We are grateful to have thousands of students who join our programs and support our common goal to empower communities and reduce inequalities. As a reminder, Kambia is a partner organization of Global Brigades, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the US.

Full payment of total program cost is due 30 days prior to the scheduled program start date. The program cost may be refundable or transferable if (1) we receive a cancellation notice in writing more than 30 days before the program start date and (2) only if the funds were not already utilized to secure airfare. Funds eligible to be transferred must be used within one year from the original program start date as noted on the Program Addendum.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

All Participant or University program cancellations must be received in writing by email on or before the cancellation date noted on the Program Addendum. In the event of a Participant or University cancellation, amounts paid, with the exception of airfare booked by Global Brigades and non-transferable funds as described below, can be credited towards a future Program as outlined in the Program Addendum or alternatively may be eligible for a refund according to the following policy.

  • If the Participant or University provides notice of cancellation more than 97 days before the program start date, the program fee is eligible for a 50% refund and 100% transferability towards a future program
  • If the Participant or University provides notice of cancellation between 97 and 68 days of the program start date, no refund will be issued, however the program fee less $250 USD is eligible to being transferred for a future program
  • If the Participant or University provides notice of cancellation within 67 days before the program start date, no refund will be issued, however the program fee less $390 USD is eligible to being transferred for a future program
  • Program fees are not refundable after the start of the program for any reason
  • Participants with eligible funds for transfer have up to 1-year from their original program start date to utilize their program fee towards a different Global Brigades’ program

In the event a Participant cancels their travel, the value of any airfare booked by Global Brigades is only eligible for a travel voucher/airline credit for the value of that ticket less any change fees. Vouchers or airline credits are issued by the airline in accordance with each airline’s policy.

In the event that Global Brigades must cancel the Program for any reason, including but not limited to a force majeure event, and is not able to provide an alternative Program that is acceptable to University, both Parties agree to negotiate a refund amount in good faith.
